Whether you are a wildlife enthusiast or a travel buff, choosing Jim Corbett as a weekend destination is no surprise but its interesting to know that each gate of any National Park will offer you a divergent safari experience.
In Jim Corbett there are a number of gates and the most popular of them is the Jhirna Gate (Resorts in Jim Corbett). This is one of the few gates which is open round the year for Safari. Jhirna is the southern side of the national park sharing the same entry gate of Dhela.
Story of Jhirna gate began in 1994, when under the Project Tiger, this area was included in the tiger reserve zone. Due to this the human settlement of this area was relocated to different areas and it was used as a part of the National Park. In fact Jhirna was one of the villages along with Dhar and Kothiraju among which were relocated and finally the gate was named after the village Jhirna. Therefore while you begin your safari from this gate, the tiny hindu temples will remind you about the villagers of one time but now you will find the wild creatures moving around happily. As it was farmland at one time, so you will not find dense forest making it easy for the tourist to spot the fascinating creatures in their natural habitat.
If this is the first Safari of your life, then you will realize capturing wildlife in their indigenous habitat is not an easy task. We city dwellers are often used to viewing animals in zoo which is very simple but spotting the quadrupeds in the huge landscape of grassland may not be that effortless for all.
Whether this is your first safari or you are a pro, you will catch sight of a deer, elephant right at the initial part of the safari.
So certainly for the pro one it’s not only easy to spot the wild friends but can also seize the moments in their cameras as their digital treasury.
So pack your bag and plan for a break. Travel helps you to rearrange yourself and approach life with fresh energy.
